Helena’s early childhood was peppered throughout small countryside towns in the Namaqualand, on the West Coast of South Africa. With art not being featured as a subject during her time of study, she matriculated and with fate deciding her career to be a Council Employee.
She was introduced to the liquid sensuality of oil paints during an Easter weekend in 2009 when she attended an art workshop by the late Luie Audi, and found herself under the charm.
From then on Helena attended weekly art classes and workshops as much as she could afford. Since 2012 she was privileged enough to paint on a more regular and daily basis. Now based in Joostenbergvlakte close to Cape Town, she teaches art to beginner students, and is a full-time artist/housewife.
Helena joined the South African Society of Arts in 2016, taking part in annual exhibitions and establishing an international client base.
She has predominantly been exhibiting with the Kirstenbosch Gardens Art Gallery.
