Theko Boshomane uses his work to self-heal and overcome childhood experiences of being bullied. He explores the influence of those formative years in the way he finds himself interacting socially, spiritually and emotionally in his adult years.
With work based in open and imaginary worlds, the viewer should seek to observe and indulge in the process of soul healing.
He was born in Polokwane (Limpopo) and now lives in Soweto- Johannesburg. Obtaining a B-tech in fine art in 2012 he has since participated in several exhibitions with high-end galleries such as the Absa Art Gallery, Everard Read and the Pretoria Art Museum.
His participation the Absa L’Atelier art competition (2013) found him exhibiting in the top 100 artworks, while the Sasol New Signatures art competition (2013) awarded him a merit award.
The mediums in which Theko enlightens himself range from drawings and paintings, to printmaking, videos and installation.
